Merge Tags
Merge tags are an industry standard method for adding personalised text.
Merge tags can appear in a variety of formats (determined by the Email Service Provider) and are replaced with source data as the email is sent.
For example:
- {{FirstName}} or *|FNAME|*
- {{Company}} or *|COMPANY|*
To add personalised text:
- Choose the data you want to use. This can include the recipient's:
- Name
- Company
- Website address
- Town/City
- Use the merge tag(s) within the email
- Define an alternate text (or nothing) for instances where you do not have the source data
- Preview/test the email to ensure the merge tag(s) show the expected information
